Why is this a surprise to many of us? Because typically Americans think of Christianity as a white religion. But it’s not anymore, at least not worldwide.
True, Christianity was a largely European and American faith until about the early 20th century. But the demographics shifted majorly during the 20th and into the 21st century.
The average Christian around the world is an economically poor Pentecostal/charismatic woman of color living in the Global South. Actually, she doesn’t care so much about Christianity or religion as much as she does about loving and serving Jesus. She has experienced supernatural occurrences such as physical healings, demonic deliverances, and other miracles.
