Jesus is still alive and is active in our world. One evidence of this is the enormous number of Muslims over the last 20 or so years who have had dreams where Jesus ("Isa" in Arabic) appears to them. Typically, these dreams are of a man in bright white light who either identifies himself as Jesus or gives them instructions to find followers of Jesus who will show them what to do.
This is happening at such a widespread and consistent level across so many nations that it is just too much to chalk up to coincidence. There are many reports of Muslims who have never even heard about Jesus having these dreams. Sometimes it is people who have persecuted Christians who have the dreams. I've even heard of multiple people who don't know each other receiving the same dream on the same night, then being told to go to the same place so they can start following him together.
The people having these dreams can be found in parts of the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and even in the Americas and Europe. Typically, taking an interest in Jesus goes against their best interests since doing so can be a risk socially and even physically—some lose their lives for it.
If you have never heard of this phenomenon before and doubt what I am saying, don’t take my word for it. Do an internet search for “dreams of man in white,” and see what you find. There is also a book of multiple accounts about this titled Dreams and Visions by Tom Doyle.
But Jesus doesn’t just appear to Muslims in dreams. I’ve personally had dreams that seemed so clear and provided specific instructions in the past that I believe Jesus used them to communicate with me. And I know others in places like the Midwest and New England who have had similar dreams that led to positive life change, including a woman recently who left behind New Age practices because she had a dream where she received a warning about her spiritual practices and an invitation to take Jesus seriously.
Jesus isn’t just an idea from history. He is alive and active today. And he wants a relationship with you. If you start moving toward him. Perhaps by making an invitation for him to be at work in your life, I’m quite certain he will start showing up. It might be in a dream, or he might speak to you in other ways.
